Police in Makueni County have arrested a man after he killed his father over a domestic confrontation. The confrontation is believed to have originated from missing beans.

According to witnesses, the suspect allegedly assaulted his father after being confronted about the alleged sale of beans that belonged to the victim, identified as Nashon Mutie.

Barnabas Ng’eno, the Mukaa Sub-county Police Commander, confirmed that the suspect, Simon Mutie, is currently in custody in connection with his father’s death.

“The suspect resided with his father but had been involved in theft from the elderly man. The dispute over the stolen beans escalated into a confrontation,” witnesses stated.

Further reports suggest that not only did the suspect steal the beans, but he also sold them.

On being questioned about the sale of the beans, the suspect engaged his father in a heated argument.

Unfortunately, the argument culminated in the suspect striking his father with a blunt object. The lifeless body of Mutie was discovered by neighbors lying in a pool of blood in the compound where the two live.

Simon was lateron arrested and transported to Salama police station. His father’s body was in the meantime transferred to the Kilungu Hospital morgue.
