A TVET student, Victoria Wangui Maina, has alleged that she was physically assaulted and unlawfully detained for three days at Club Triple X in Kasarani after her friends allegedly left her behind with an unpaid nightclub bill.

According to accounts surrounding the incident, Victoria was partying with a group of friends at the Kasarani nightclub when they allegedly left the venue without settling the outstanding bill.

Victoria was reportedly left behind and held responsible for the unpaid amount by the club’s management and security personnel.

Student Claims She Was Held for Three Days

Victoria alleges that she was detained at the club for three days as management sought to recover the outstanding bill.

During the alleged confinement, she claims she was subjected to physical violence and severe mistreatment.

She reportedly said she was denied food and clothing and was not allowed to bathe throughout the three-day period.

The allegations have raised concerns over the treatment of customers by entertainment establishments and the legality of detaining individuals over unpaid bills.

Mother Accuses Police of Failing to Intervene

Victoria’s mother has also accused Kasarani police officers of failing to take appropriate action when the matter was initially brought to their attention.

According to her account, the officers allegedly dismissed the complaint and told the club management to “go deal with her.”

The mother claims the response allowed the alleged detention to continue, exposing her daughter to further mistreatment.

The allegations against the nightclub management, security personnel and police officers have not been independently established, and investigations would be required to determine what happened and whether any laws were breached.

The incident has renewed debate over the rights of customers and the appropriate legal procedures that businesses should follow when dealing with unpaid bills.
