Police in Migori intercepted a significant haul of bhang totaling 531 kilograms, with an estimated street value exceeding Ksh.15 million, in an operation that will definitely disrupt the drugs and narcotics business in Kenya.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers reported that the seizure was made following the arrest of a 26-year-old woman, Molinter Adhiambo Juma, at a residence in Buembu village.

The operation, carried out by detectives from the DCI and their K9 counterparts from the Isebania Border Post, uncovered 9 sacks filled with cannabis sativa sticks, along with 8 additional sacks containing the unprocessed drug.

While in custody, Juma has been implicated in the trafficking of the illegal substance. However, an unidentified male suspect managed to evade capture, with authorities identifying the premises as belonging to Osege Odhiambo.

Efforts to locate both Odhiambo and the fleeing suspect are currently underway as the investigation continues.
