Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed his readiness to collaborate with Mount Kenya elders to promote unity in the region following the aftermath of the 2022 general election.
The mountain has lacked a united political front after former President Uhuru Kenyatta retired.
In an interview with a local media house, Inooro TV on Sunday, Gachagua reiterated his willingness to work alongside esteemed elders from Mount Kenya, including former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda, among others.
“I am extending my hand to the esteemed elders of Mount Kenya, including former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda, among others,” Gachagua affirmed.
He outlined plans for several meetings with leaders aimed at fostering unity within the region, stressing the importance of a unified voice to propel development.
“I will continue working with the elders and experienced political leaders, religious leaders, and all other leaders across the political divide,” Gachagua emphasized.
