The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is holding the second phase of its grassroots elections across all 40 wards in Homa Bay County today (Saturday).
This follows the initial grassroots election of party delegates from polling stations conducted in the region on April 24, 2024.
Today’s election focuses on selecting party officials who will represent the 40 wards in Homa Bay County’s eight constituencies. By yesterday, preparations for the second round of UDA elections were complete, with the process set to start at 6:30 am.
A total of 17,500 delegates, chosen during last month’s grassroots polls, will participate in today’s election to elect 800 ward delegates.
According to Aggrey Otore, the UDA Nyanza region coordinator, the polls will be conducted at designated centers in each of the 40 wards. Otore also assured that security measures are in place to ensure the elections proceed smoothly.
