Detectives are investigating the brutal murder of a 45-year-old private security guard at All Saints Cianda High School in Kiambu. On Saturday night, an unknown number of assailants raided the school, stealing assorted valuables.
During the raid, Nicholas Angwenyi, the security guard on duty, was hacked to death as he attempted to raise the alarm.
Kiambu police boss Michael Muchiri confirmed that the gang broke into the staff room and several classrooms, making away with property. Angwenyi was found with deep cuts on his back, lying in a pool of blood. His body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations. No arrests have been made so far.
Isaac Andabwa, the guards’ union boss, condemned the murder and urged authorities to ensure justice for Angwenyi’s family. “Guards are always victims in such incidents, and all we ask is for authorities to ensure the man’s family gets justice,” he stated.
