The State Department for Diaspora Affairs has announced the immediate evacuation of Kenyan citizens currently residing in Israel and Iran, following a sharp escalation in military hostilities between the two nations.
In an official statement released on Saturday, June 21, the government urged all affected Kenyans to register for evacuation by filling out a digital form available via the department’s online platforms. A QR code has also been shared across official social media pages to ease access to the registration portal.
Citizens are required to provide detailed information, including their full names, national ID or passport numbers, current physical address and location, medical conditions (if any), and next-of-kin details.
Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu confirmed that evacuation logistics are being coordinated closely with Kenya’s embassies in Tehran and Tel Aviv.
The evacuation notice comes amid growing international concern over the intensifying military conflict, which began on June 13. The conflict has seen Israel and Iran launch large-scale aerial and missile strikes targeting key infrastructure, prompting fears of a wider regional crisis.
Earlier this week, PS Njogu had issued a travel advisory, urging Kenyans in both countries to avoid non-essential movement and adhere strictly to the guidance of local authorities.
“The government continues to monitor the situation in the region and remains fully committed to the safety and welfare of Kenyans wherever they are,” Njogu stated.
The Diaspora Affairs Department has not yet disclosed the number of Kenyans currently registered for evacuation, but emphasized that all efforts are being made to ensure a swift and safe operation.
