Kiambu Woman Representative Ann WaMuratha has firmly shut down swirling social media rumors suggesting that she has separated from her husband, branding the claims as both false and malicious.

The outspoken lawmaker, who is also a certified marriage counsellor, reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to her marriage of nearly three decades, stating:
“My home is intact and growing. WaMuratha is stable and steady.”

In a video she shared online, WaMuratha expressed deep concern about the emotional toll the false reports have taken on her family, friends, and supporters — including members of the clergy.
“I have received many calls from friends, supporters, and even the bishop who conducted our wedding, asking what is going on. People were genuinely concerned,” she said.

Condemning the toxic spread of misinformation online, the MP warned that social media has increasingly become a destructive force against personal lives and family institutions.
“Social media has become a place where lies thrive, threatening families and marriages,” she emphasized.

Known for her advocacy of strong family values and her work counselling couples, WaMuratha stressed that her marriage is grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and a willingness to focus on each other’s strengths.
“I have been in marriage for close to 30 years. We have supported each other, and that is not going to change,” she said.
“I learnt in marriage, you amplify the strengths of your partner, and lower the weaknesses, and you are able to live with that person.”

She continued:
“There is no way I can amplify my husband’s weaknesses, and that is a decision I took. And I have been amplifying his strengths, and that is why we have continued to be together.”

WaMuratha concluded by reiterating her belief in the sanctity of marriage and declaring that only death would separate her from her husband.
