Popular Kenyan influencer Liebe Kiki has finally broken her silence on her much-discussed skin bleaching transformation, revealing that it was driven by childhood trauma rooted in rejection and emotional pain.

In a raw and emotional Instagram confession, the outspoken content creator shared that her decision to alter her skin tone wasn’t for beauty or vanity—but rather to heal scars from her past.

“My mother never allowed me to call her ‘mom’ because of my skin colour,” Kiki wrote.
“I had to kill the child in me and started changing my skin tone.”

Liebe Kiki, known for her flamboyant style and luxurious lifestyle, admitted she is now in the final stages of reversing the bleaching and is embracing her natural complexion once again.

“I’m almost there. Y’all can breathe now,” she told her fans.
“I got the answers I needed—I just had to go to crazy lengths to find them.”

In the same post, she also called out societal expectations and broken family dynamics, particularly emphasizing the impact of emotionally abusive parenting.

“Parents can traumatize you sometimes,” she stated.
“And yes, I’m probably the only girl who is bold enough to be public about it.”

But for Kiki, the decision to go public was more than about healing—it was about empowerment.

“It’s not easy to admit the truth to thousands of strangers. But I owe it to myself. And maybe to someone else who needs to hear it,” she added in a follow-up post.
