Bishop Kathy Kiuna, co-founder of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC), has disclosed that she and her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, took a massive KSh 250 million loan 15 years ago to acquire JCC Parklands — a loan that she now joyfully declares has been fully cleared.
Speaking during a church service, Bishop Kathy opened up about the financial burden the couple carried for over a decade, saying they had paid KSh 430 million over the years — but were shocked to learn that KSh 196 million still remained as the outstanding balance.
“When my husband passed away, he told me, ‘Honey, God has taken over. It’s going to be very easy,'” Kathy recounted emotionally. “I didn’t know it was his goodbye.”
She continued, “Fifteen years before he went to be with the Lord, we took a KSh 250 million loan to buy this place. After paying KSh 430 million, I asked the bank for the balance, and they told me it’s KSh 196 million. The math wasn’t mathing!”
Just three weeks after Bishop Allan Kiuna’s death, a miracle happened. The bank called Kathy with unexpected news — they were waiving KSh 120 million off the remaining balance.
This left the church with KSh 74 million to clear. Kathy turned to a close friend and apostle within the church, who immediately rallied his network to raise the remaining funds.
“In one hour, it was a wrap. Everyone had pledged. One man’s friends gave millions. I was like—show me your friends,” she added with a smile.
Kathy also revealed that she and Bishop Allan had put up their own home for sale in case the church needed to cover the loan to avoid public embarrassment. But before that became necessary, God made a way. “The six months given by the bank ended in June, and we had already cleared it,” she said.
Two weeks ago, the church retrieved its property title deeds from the bank.
“I stand here today to declare: JCC is debt-free. To God be the glory,” she said as the congregation erupted in applause.
