The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2025 national examination timetable, including the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and various learner assessments.

According to a circular signed by the Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Dr. Julius Bitok, the KCSE examinations will run from October 21 to November 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), Kenya Integrated Learning and Education Assessment (KILEA), Kenya Primary Learners Education Assessment (KPLEA), and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will be conducted between October 27 and November 5, 2025.

Ban on Social Activities in Schools

To ensure candidates are fully focused, the Ministry has banned all extra-curricular and social activities in schools during the Third Term. Among the suspended activities are:

  • Prayer sessions involving parents and external guests
  • Annual General Meetings (AGMs)
  • Prize-giving ceremonies
  • Thanksgiving events

Dr. Bitok emphasized that the restrictions are aimed at minimizing disruptions and safeguarding the integrity of the national examinations.

The Ministry has consistently stressed the need to create a conducive learning environment for candidates. The ban on non-academic activities is also expected to enhance security and reduce exam malpractice.
