Kenyan media personality Jacquey Nyaminde, popularly known as Wilbroda, has caused a stir after declaring that she does not believe in heaven, hell, or an afterlife.
Speaking during an interview on Alex Mwakideu’s Live show on YouTube, the celebrated radio presenter said her belief is that individuals create their own “heaven” or “hell” depending on how they live on Earth.
“This is what I believe: you are the creator of your heaven, you are the creator of your hell. It depends on how you live on Earth. So when I am on this Earth, I will try my best to be the best human I can be,” Wilbroda said.
She added that she does not believe in biblical references to an afterlife or the idea of a trumpet signaling the end of time.
“When you die, you die. There is no afterlife. I do not think there is an afterlife,” she added.
Personal Struggles
Beyond her spiritual views, Wilbroda also opened up about a deeply personal experience — revealing that she once suffered a miscarriage. She said the loss discouraged her from attempting to get pregnant again.
“It was a difficult period in my life,” she shared, explaining that she chose to keep the matter private, with only a few close people aware of it.

Wilbroda’s views challenge traditional religious beliefs widely held in Kenya, sparking debate among her fans and the wider public. While many Kenyans strongly identify with Christianity and Islam — both of which emphasize belief in heaven, hell, and an afterlife — her comments highlight a growing trend of public figures openly questioning conventional doctrines.
