A 24-hour concert is set to be held in honor of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, marking one of the most ambitious memorial events in Kenya’s history.

The event, dubbed #RailaLegacyFestival, will take place at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, starting Friday, October 31 at 10 a.m. and will run through the night until Saturday morning.

According to organizers, the festival aims to celebrate Raila Odinga’s monumental legacy, highlighting his decades-long contribution to Kenya’s democracy, freedom, and social justice.

The celebration will feature a full Kenyan artist lineup, to be announced later this week, bringing together leading musicians, poets, and spoken-word artists for a marathon of performances, tributes, and visual showcases chronicling Raila’s journey.

“The #RailaLegacyFestival is not a mourning event — it’s a celebration of life, courage, and the ideals Baba stood for,” said one of the event coordinators, adding that the concert will be open to the public under tight security arrangements.

The planned festival comes just weeks after Raila’s state funeral in Bondo, Siaya County, where thousands of mourners gathered to bid farewell to the opposition leader, who passed away earlier this month while receiving treatment in India.
