Police in Koibatek, Baringo County, have arrested a man who surrendered after allegedly stabbing and killing his wife in a domestic altercation at Lopolos sub-location.

Authorities say the victim, identified as 30-year-old Sheila Changwony, was found lying lifeless on a bed hours after the incident, which occurred on October 20, 2025.

According to a police report, the suspect—believed to be her husband—had fled the scene but later called a relative, confessing that they had fought and that he feared his wife was dead.

Alarmed by the confession, neighbours rushed to the house and broke down the door, only to find the body of the woman covered with a blanket on the bed.

Police officers from the area were called to the scene and moved the body to a nearby mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

The man later surrendered himself at a local police station, telling officers he feared being lynched by an angry mob.

Police confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will face charges once investigations are complete.
