Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, has publicly clarified that she is not the woman featured in a viral video that has been widely shared on social media.
In a statement shared via her Instagram Stories, Saumu urged both the public and online platforms to stop linking her to the incident, calling the misinformation “inaccurate and unwarranted.”
She wrote:
“I am not the woman in that video so bloggers, media platforms and individuals should refrain from using my name and images in relation to the incident.”
Saumu emphasized that the situation involves private family matters and called for sensitivity and respect for those directly involved. She further confirmed that she would not provide additional comments on the issue due to its delicate nature.
“I wish to firmly and unequivocally condemn all forms of gender-based violence,” she added. “I do not, and will never, support any act of violence in any capacity.”
