A sitting Kenyan Senator is under growing public scrutiny after a woman who claims to be his former lover accused him of neglecting their child. The woman alleges that the two met in 2022 during the campaign season, and their relationship resulted in the birth of a baby boy.
According to her account, the Senator allegedly severed communication shortly after the child was born and has since refused to offer any financial or emotional support. She claims that repeated attempts to contact him have been ignored, leaving her to care for the baby alone.
The woman further disclosed that the child has been battling sickle cell anaemia, a condition that requires frequent hospital visits, specialised medication and ongoing monitoring. She says the Senator is fully aware of their son’s health complications but has not made any effort to assist.
With mounting medical bills and no support from the lawmaker, the woman stated that she was forced to turn elsewhere for help. She alleges that she eventually received assistance from the County Governor, who stepped in to ensure the child’s treatment continued.
Her revelations have stirred significant debate online, with many Kenyans calling for the Senator to address the allegations publicly. Others have demanded investigations, especially given that elected leaders are held to high ethical standards under the Leadership and Integrity Act.
As of now, the Senator has not issued any public response regarding the claims. It remains unclear whether he intends to comment or take any legal action.
