A Nairobi court has ruled that blogger Edgar Obare must pay Sh6 million in damages and issue a full public apology to model and digital creator Bernice Nunah and another complainant over a defamatory post published in December 2022.

The judgment was delivered on November 7, 2025, by Hon. Hosea Mwangi Nganga in Civil Case No. E6364 of 2022. According to the court, the plaintiffs were awarded:

  • Sh4 million in general damages (Sh2 million each)

  • Sh2 million in exemplary and aggravated damages (Sh1 million each)

Obare was further ordered to issue a full and unqualified public apology, amend the defamatory content, and completely withdraw the post dated December 22, 2022.

The court also imposed a permanent injunction preventing Obare from publishing any further defamatory statements against Nunah.

Who is Bernice Nunah?
Nunah is a celebrated Kenyan model, entrepreneur and content creator, widely recognised for her luxury lifestyle, fashion, and travel content. She rose to national prominence after competing in the Miss World Kenya beauty pageant, where she placed as second runner-up for the 2019–2021 title.
