President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Oginga are this morning hosting newly elected Members of Parliament for a joint breakfast meeting ahead of their swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, December 2.
The meeting brings together MPs-elect from both the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the ODM party, along with parliamentary leadership from the majority and minority sides.
According to sources, the lawmakers received an invitation on Monday evening, with ODM candidates receiving a message acknowledging their campaign efforts and urging unity moving forward.
“In recognition of your efforts and to keep the fire burning, I wish to invite all of you for a breakfast meeting with our Party Leader, Sen. Oburu Oginga,” read part of the text sent to ODM MPs-elect.
Shortly after the message, the new lawmakers were contacted by phone and informed that they would first convene at Orange House before proceeding to State House for a joint breakfast meeting with their UDA counterparts.
The invitation extended not only to the elected MPs but also to aspirants who vied on affiliated or coalition-aligned parties but did not secure wins—part of what insiders say is an effort to strengthen cross-party cooperation as Parliament prepares to resume.
