Detectives in Nairobi are investigating the death of a taxi driver who was fatally stabbed by a passenger during an altercation in Kitusuru early Saturday, November 29, 2025.
The deceased, Kenneth Kimani Gachoka, reportedly picked up a passenger from a petrol station in Westlands and was driving them to Chrisco Christian Church in Kitusuru. Upon reaching the destination, a dispute erupted between the driver and the passenger.
According to colleagues, Gachoka revealed that the passenger stabbed him in the neck during the scuffle. Despite the injuries, he managed to escape and call for help. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police visited the scene to carry out investigations. The taxi was moved to a local police station as part of the evidence collection process, while Gachoka’s body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Authorities are currently conducting a manhunt for the suspect. Investigators have also reviewed security footage from the petrol station to trace the passenger.
