Media personality and digital strategist Willis Raburu, through his company Steizon Limited, has moved to court seeking to compel East African Breweries PLC (EABL) and Game Changer Marketing Limited to pay him Sh10 million allegedly owed for work done during the December 2024 Furaha City Festival.
In an urgent application filed under a certificate of urgency, Steizon—through lawyer Danstan Omari—asked the court to suspend or revoke EABL’s operating licence until the disputed payment is settled in full.
Raburu Says He Delivered Full Festival Package
Raburu states that Steizon was contracted by Game Changer Marketing, which he says acted as an agent of EABL, to handle:
- Digital promotion
- Branding
- Influencer engagement
- Logistics
- Event coordination
The services were for the festival held on December 7, 2024.
In his affidavit, Raburu said that although Game Changer did not physically sign the contract, the deal remained valid and binding due to industry practice and the conduct of both parties.
He told the court that Steizon delivered beyond expectations:
- 60+ reels produced
- 100+ static posts published
- Over 1 million reach achieved
- Full coordination of personnel, influencers, media teams, and security
Despite this, he claims no payment has been made.
EABL Allegedly Referred Him to Another Agent
Raburu said EABL initially asked him to submit a detailed performance report before they could process payment. However, he was later redirected to Brisk Marketing, another alleged paying agent, which has reportedly not provided any feedback.
Steizon says the prolonged non-payment has caused:
- Severe financial strain
- Reputational damage
- Pressure from unpaid suppliers
Raburu Wants Licence Suspended, Money Deposited in Court
Steizon Limited is seeking orders:
- Suspending or revoking EABL’s operating licence until the Sh10 million is paid
- Compelling both defendants to jointly settle the Sh10 million plus interest
- Requiring EABL to deposit Sh10 million as security in court
- Declaring that Game Changer Marketing acted with actual or apparent authority on EABL’s behalf
- Confirming that the unsigned contract is valid and enforceable
Omari told the court the matter is extremely urgent because of the upcoming court recess and the risk of further economic harm to Steizon.
