Political activist Nuru Okanga has been acquitted of all charges in a cybercrime case linked to alleged threatening remarks against President William Ruto.
In her ruling, Magistrate Ndombi said the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence to prove that Okanga authored, uploaded, or circulated the video at the centre of the case.
The court noted that investigators did not produce digital forensic evidence, seized electronic devices, or search warrants that could directly link the activist to the disputed content.
“Upon consideration of all the evidence and applicable law, this court finds that the prosecution has failed to establish a prima facie case against the accused person in respect to all three counts,” the magistrate ruled.
As a result, Okanga was acquitted and discharged, bringing the case to an end.
