Popular YouTuber and digital entrepreneur Mungai Eve has spoken out against the continued public fixation on her past relationship with Director Trevor, urging Kenyans to stop defining her by a relationship that ended years ago.
Speaking during an interview on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Eve said she wants to be recognised for her individual identity and professional achievements, rather than constant comparisons to her former partner.
“I am a person as a whole. You don’t have to keep saying, ‘Mungai Eve, she’s your ex-boyfriend,’ or, ‘Mungai Eve, she’s your current boyfriend.’ What’s the obsession?” she asked.
The content creator noted that being a public figure comes with intense scrutiny, adding that while relationships often attract attention, they should not define a person’s career or personal growth.
Eve highlighted that she has remained focused on building her brand and expanding her business interests, including private ventures, real estate projects, and brand collaborations. She added that she has also maintained an active presence on Instagram and TikTok, even as she works behind the scenes.
“I’ve been focusing on private ventures, real estate projects, and brand collaborations,” she explained.
The YouTuber further revealed that after five years in the public spotlight, she made a deliberate decision to step back from constant visibility in order to strategise and create content that aligns with her personal goals.
“People need to understand that I am growing, and just because I was in a relationship in the past doesn’t define who I am today,” she said.
Her remarks have reignited conversations online about privacy, growth, and identity among public figures in Kenya’s digital content space.
