Nairobi, Kenya — Comedian and media personality Rapcha the Sayantist has finally broken his silence on the fallout that led to his exit from the popular Iko Nini Podcast, shedding light on tensions with host Mwafreeka that he says left him feeling deeply disrespected.
Speaking on an episode of his Chizi Podcast, Rapcha revealed that the rift began after he publicly criticised celebrated rapper Khaligraph Jones, a move that later sparked controversy on Iko Nini.
Khaligraph Jones Criticism Sparked Tension
According to Rapcha, the situation escalated when Mwafreeka addressed the issue during a subsequent episode of the Iko Nini Podcast, explaining on camera why Rapcha should not have gone after Khaligraph Jones.
However, Rapcha says the discussion crossed a line.
“Alikua ananisomea mbele ya camera,” Rapcha said, explaining that Mwafreeka’s response felt more like a public lecture than a private conversation.
The comedian revealed that the moment was particularly painful because it happened publicly, adding that even his children—who were watching the episode—were shocked by how he was addressed.
“I Felt Disrespected,” Rapcha Says
Rapcha said the incident made him feel undermined and humiliated, especially given the long-standing friendship he shared with Mwafreeka.
He noted that disagreements are normal among friends, but handling sensitive issues live on camera without prior discussion was unacceptable.
“That kind of correction should have happened off camera,” he said.
Previous Fallout During Comedy Special Production
Rapcha further disclosed that the tensions between him and Mwafreeka were not new.
He claimed they had previously clashed during the production of his Raw and Uncut comedy special, where he again felt disrespected by Mwafreeka’s conduct.
According to Rapcha, these unresolved issues slowly strained their relationship, eventually leading to his decision to distance himself from the podcast.
Accusations of Choosing Khaligraph Over Friendship
The comedian also accused Mwafreeka of prioritising his relationship with Khaligraph Jones over their friendship.
Rapcha claimed that Mwafreeka’s public stance on the podcast appeared designed to impress the rapper rather than protect a friend.
“I felt like he chose Khaligraph over me,” Rapcha said, adding that the public confrontation made the situation worse.
Why Rapcha Walked Away From Iko Nini Podcast
Ultimately, Rapcha said the repeated instances of disrespect pushed him to walk away from the Iko Nini Podcast to protect his dignity and mental well-being.
He emphasized that while he holds no bitterness, mutual respect is non-negotiable—especially in professional and creative partnerships.
Public Reaction
Rapcha’s revelations have sparked widespread discussion online, with fans divided over the fallout. Some have applauded him for speaking his truth, while others have called for reconciliation between the two media personalities.
As of now, Mwafreeka has not publicly responded to Rapcha’s latest remarks.
