American actor Will Smith has strongly denied allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by America’s Got Talent star and violinist Brian King Joseph, with his lawyer dismissing the claims as false and reckless.
Joseph has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Smith and a management company, accusing them of sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination. The claims stem from events Joseph alleges occurred during their 2025 tour together.
Claims Outlined in Lawsuit
According to court documents, Joseph says he was hired in late 2024 to perform on tour and at other events alongside Smith. He alleges that the two developed a close professional relationship, during which Smith allegedly told him they shared a “special connection.”
The lawsuit centres on an incident Joseph claims occurred in March 2025 while he was staying at a hotel in Las Vegas.
Joseph alleges that someone entered his hotel room without his knowledge and left behind several items, including:
- Wipes
- A beer bottle
- A backpack
- A bottle of HIV medication
- Hospital discharge papers bearing another person’s name
- A handwritten note that read: “Brian, I’ll be back no later 5:30, just us”, accompanied by a drawn heart and the initials “Stone F.”
Joseph claims the incident left him distressed and later led to retaliation and the termination of his working relationship with the tour.
Will Smith’s Lawyer Responds
Will Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, has categorically denied the allegations.
“Mr. Joseph’s allegations concerning my client are false, baseless and reckless,” Grodsky said in a statement.
“They are categorically denied, and we will use all legal means available to address these claims and to ensure that the truth is brought to light.”
Case Yet to Be Determined
The lawsuit is still in its early stages, and no court has ruled on the claims. Smith has not personally commented on the matter beyond his lawyer’s statement.
The case adds to a growing list of high-profile legal disputes involving celebrities, highlighting the increasing scrutiny of workplace conduct within the entertainment industry.
