Johnson Sakaja has reshuffled his administration, reassigning five County Chief Officers in the latest changes to Nairobi’s executive.
Key Changes Announced
In a statement issued on April 24, the governor moved Machel Waikenda from the Mobility and acting ICT Infrastructure docket to Lands.
Waikenda will also continue serving as the acting Chief Officer in the Mobility sector.
ICT and Lands Swap
Cecilia Koigu has been reassigned from Lands to the ICT Infrastructure docket in the new lineup.
New Acting Appointment
Engineer Bob Ariemba has been appointed as the acting Chief Officer in charge of Works.
Changes in Health and Gender Dockets
Irene Muchoki has been moved from Medical Services to the Gender and Inclusivity docket.
She will be replaced by Mariam Dubow Dahir, who previously served in Gender and Inclusivity.
Immediate Effect
Governor Sakaja noted that all the changes take effect immediately as part of efforts to streamline service delivery within the county government.
Previous Reshuffle
The latest adjustments come months after an earlier reshuffle in November 2025, when Geoffrey Mosiria was moved from Environment to Citizen Engagement and Customer Service.
He was replaced in the Environment docket by Hibrahim Otieno.
