Nurse Judy has revealed that she sets aside between $1,000 and $2,000 (approximately KSh130,000 to KSh260,000) every year to support people facing financial hardship.

Speaking on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the health worker and content creator said her commitment to helping others was shaped by the difficult experiences she faced growing up.

According to Nurse Judy, life during her childhood was challenging, and even completing school sometimes felt impossible.

“As a person who grew up lacking so much, where even going through school felt like a miracle, I made it a personal goal that every year I must intentionally give back in some way,” she said.

She explained that she deliberately sets aside money each year to assist individuals and families dealing with genuine hardships.

“Usually, I set aside around 1000–2000 USD yearly to help people or situations genuinely in need,” she added.

Nurse Judy also highlighted some of the support initiatives she has already undertaken this year.

Among them was paying an entire year’s school fees for a child with special needs enrolled in a special school, in addition to providing funds for the child’s learning supplies.

“At the beginning of this year, I paid a full year’s school fees for a special needs child in a special school and also sent money to the parents to buy all the required supplies needed for the child,” she revealed.

She further disclosed that she recently helped a cousin studying at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) clear a fee balance of KSh70,000.

Education, she said, remains deeply personal to her because of the struggles she endured while pursuing her own studies.

In addition, Nurse Judy announced a new initiative during Nurses Week aimed at supporting a nursing student struggling with school fee arrears.

“This Nurses Week, I’ve decided I will pay KSh30,000 directly to school for one lucky nursing student in need of fee balance clearance,” she said.

She maintained that giving back has become a lifelong commitment because she understands the emotional and financial pain of lacking support during difficult moments.
