Focus Shifts to July 19 By-Election
Nyagah will now fly the UDA flag in the upcoming July 19 by-election, where he is expected to face candidates from the Jubilee Party and the Democracy for the Citizens Party.
The by-election was triggered by the death of former Ol’Kalou MP David Kiaraho, who passed away on March 29, 2026.
The vacancy and subsequent by-election process fall under the oversight of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which is mandated to conduct elections and ensure compliance with Kenya’s electoral laws.
Growing Attention on Nyandarua Politics
Political analysts say the Ol’Kalou contest could become a significant test for UDA’s popularity in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
