Kenya vs Gabon match generated Ksh 6,498,000 in gate collections

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has revealed the official ticket sales for the Harambee Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon, which took place at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, March 24.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, March 25, Hussein clarified that Nyayo Stadium was not sold out, emphasizing that the venue’s available capacity is slightly above 22,000 seats. According to him, 22,900 tickets were made available for the match, out of which 17,735 were sold.

Among these, 15,968 regular tickets, priced at Ksh300, were purchased, while 1,331 VIP tickets were sold at Ksh1,000 each. Additionally, 107 VVIP tickets were bought, contributing to the total revenue collected.

Hussein also confirmed that revenue was generated from 329 car park slots, bringing the total earnings from the match to Ksh6,498,000. His statement aimed to provide clarity amid speculation regarding ticket sales and to ensure transparency in the federation’s financial dealings.
