Pastor Stephen Kiathia of Neema Christian Church in Tigania narrowly escaped death when armed robbers attacked him just meters from his church after a service. Speaking to TV47, he narrated the extraordinary moment when his Bible shielded him from a bullet allegedly fired by one of his attackers.

Showing a bandaged hand, he also described how a second assailant armed with a machete nearly struck his head.

“Yule alikuwa na panga wa pili, akainua akaniambia leta pesa, nikainua mkono ili nimtolee pesa. Nikazuia isinikate kwa kichwa, ikanikata hapa.”
