Two people have been reported dead after police raided a church in Migori to rescue worshippers who were reportedly fasting to death.
The shocking discovery was made after Abiud Rariende, the assistant chief of Kanyadiedo sublocation, East Kamagambo location, reported at Kamagambo Police Post that a person had died in a suspicious manner at St. Joseph Missions of Africa Church located at Kochola village within his sublocation.
The sub-county security committee proceeded to the scene at about 10 kms north of the station and found the lifeless body of Francis Muli lying on the floor of a prayer room within the church compound.
The body was fully covered in a white rob and wrapped in a grey sheet. When inspected, it had some injuries on the face, and foam was oozing from the mouth.
The scene was processed, and necessary action was taken. The body was removed to Rosewood Mortuary pending postmortem.
Earlier in the day another dead body was recovered from the same place. Later, the Scsic and the police conducted search in the Church and managed to rescue 57 people residing within the Church
