A businessman was robbed of Sh900,000 after withdrawing a total of Sh1.5 million from KCB in Machakos Town on April 25, 2025. The victim had packed the money into two separate envelopes — one containing Sh900,000 and the other Sh600,000 — before heading to a meeting at Sisu Hotel.

Unbeknown to him, the businessman was being followed by thieves who had learned about his bank transaction. After parking his Pajero at the hotel and attending his meeting, the businessman returned to find that the envelope containing Sh900,000 was missing. The thieves had broken into his car and taken the money, while the other envelope with Sh600,000 remained untouched.

Police from Kyumbi Police Station are investigating the robbery and reviewing security footage from the area to identify the suspects. They also plan to question bank staff involved in the transaction. The bank has yet to comment on the incident, stating that the matter is under investigation.
