Detectives are searching for a gang of three men involved in a failed robbery attempt in Komarock, Nairobi, on Sunday morning.
The suspects, who were masked and armed with pistols, shot and injured a security guard in the left thigh after he attempted to inquire about their intentions.
Witnesses say the men fled the scene after the shooting. The guard was rushed to Modern Komarocks Hospital and later referred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police have recovered a 9mm spent cartridge from the scene and are actively investigating the incident. The search for the suspects is ongoing
