A 75-year-old man was brutally murdered in Ikoli village, Malava Constituency, Kakamega County, in what is believed to be a land dispute orchestrated by his own relatives.
Jacob Chapia met his gruesome death on Saturday night after a gang allegedly hired by his relatives stormed his home while he was spending the night with his second wife. The assailants struck him on the head with an axe at around 4 AM, leaving him dead in a pool of blood. His body was found in bed with deep cuts on the head and arms, and his limbs had been severed.
His wife, Marystella Ayeshe, 62, was also attacked and had her tongue brutally cut off. She is currently fighting for her life at Kakamega County General Hospital.
According to the deceased’s daughter, Rose Ititi, the attack was linked to ongoing land disputes within the family.
