On Sunday morning, an incident occurred at PCEA Kasarani East Parish in Nairobi involving security personnel associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Reports indicate that gunshots were fired to disperse a group attempting to disrupt the church service. Notably, Gachagua had not yet arrived at the church during the disturbance. The altercation resulted in damage to several vehicles, including shattered windshields.

This event adds to a series of recent confrontations involving Gachagua. In December 2024, during a thanksgiving service in Nyandarua County, chaos erupted with teargas and gunshots, leading to a hurried evacuation of attendees .

Additionally, there were claims in November 2024 that detectives attempted to prevent Gachagua from attending a church service in Kahawa West, allegations which the Directorate of Criminal Investigations denied, emphasizing their commitment to respecting individual liberties and the autonomy of religious institutions
