President William Ruto has appointed former Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Pyrethrum Processing Company in the latest round of government appointments.
According to a gazette notice, Samboja is among three individuals appointed by the president and will serve a three-year term at the helm of the state corporation.
Samboja previously served as the second Governor of Taita Taveta County from 2017 to 2022. He sought re-election in 2022 but was defeated by the current Governor, Andrew Mwadime.
Outside politics, Samboja is currently active in media and ministry. He hosts a gospel show on Anguo FM — a station he owns — and also serves as a preacher.
