Detectives in Mombasa County have launched an investigation after a licensed firearm holder reported the disappearance of his Glock pistol under unclear circumstances in Nyali.
The businessman claims he had securely locked the Glock pistol, along with two magazines each loaded with 15 bullets, in a safe on May 13. However, he discovered the weapon missing on June 2, when he went to retrieve it in preparation for a trip to Samburu.
According to his statement to police, the firearm had not been checked or used since it was stored.
Police have since visited the scene and opened a formal investigation into the matter. The circumstances surrounding the disappearance—especially from a supposedly secure location—are being treated as suspicious.
Authorities are also assessing who had access to the premises, including reviewing any available surveillance footage and conducting interviews.
