Equity Bank has been crowned Kenya’s most valuable brand in 2025, according to the newly released Brand Finance Kenya Report. The financial giant leads the list with an impressive brand value of Sh71.3 billion, solidifying its dominance in the country’s financial services sector.

Close behind is Safaricom, holding the second spot with a brand value of Sh58.3 billion, while Britam comes in third at Sh54.8 billion. M-Pesa, Kenya’s trailblazing mobile money platform, ranks fourth with a brand value of Sh30.8 billion, and Co-operative Bank rounds out the top five at Sh26.0 billion.

In a separate but equally notable ranking, Tusker has been named Kenya’s strongest brand of 2025, scoring a Brand Strength Index (BSI) of 97.1 out of 100. The popular beer brand, owned by Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) under East African Breweries PLC (EABL), also recorded the fastest brand value growth, up 67% year-on-year to Sh9.6 billion.

“The strong revenue growth is attributed to successful pricing strategies and commercial activities implemented by EABL,” the report notes.

Kenya’s growing economy and increasing urbanisation have also boosted consumer spending, especially on premium branded alcoholic beverages like Tusker.

Other standout brands in the Brand Finance Kenya 25 rankings include:

  • NCBA – Sh20.6 billion
  • Family Bank – Sh16.6 billion
  • Jubilee Insurance – Sh7.0 billion
  • Naivas Supermarket – Sh value not disclosed but continues national expansion

The Brand Finance Kenya 25 list reflects the evolving tastes of Kenyan consumers and the resilience of top-performing brands in a dynamic economic landscape. It evaluates brands based on financial performance, consumer perceptions, and market strength.
