Popular Kenyan comedian Sammy Kioko has sparked online discussion after sharing a late-night video of himself camping outside the Machakos Governor’s Office, demanding payment for work he claims to have done for the county nearly two years ago.
Frustrated Comedian Seeks Governor’s Audience
In a video posted on Friday, October 25, the former Churchill Show comedian is seen inside his vehicle, parked outside the Machakos County headquarters, popularly known as the White House.
“I have been outside the governor’s office since morning,” Kioko said, referring to the iconic building constructed during former governor Alfred Mutua’s tenure.
Kioko claimed that unnamed individuals had consistently blocked him from meeting Governor Wavinya Ndeti to discuss his long-delayed payment.
“There are people who have ensured I have not seen the governor. Things are not okay. I did work and supplied items for the county. How long does it take to pay?” he lamented.
Two Years Without Payment
According to Kioko, he has been seeking payment for two years without success. The comedian said the frustration had pushed him to take desperate measures, including spending the night outside the county offices.
“Dark days and nights! Urgently need help. Things are not okay,” he wrote in his caption.
“My only hope is to talk to the governor. Any help would be appreciated. I have suffered enough.”
