Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has called on detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to arrest self-proclaimed preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a following his shocking public confession of participating in a gang rape incident.
Passaris, in a strongly worded statement on Monday, said Ng’ang’a’s remarks made during a recent live “kesha” crusade in Maili Tatu, Maua, Meru County, should be treated as a criminal confession, not a sermon.
“It is not a sermon; it is a criminal confession. It should have been flagged instantly, and the pastor picked up for questioning by the authorities,” Passaris said.
She added that Pastor Ng’ang’a should surrender himself to police, identify the eight other individuals he claimed were involved, and assist in delivering justice to the survivor.
“If the pastor did make that confession, he should surrender himself to the police, name the eight others involved, and help deliver justice for the survivor,” she insisted.
Passaris further urged the DCI to move swiftly to verify the video, protect the victim, and uphold the rule of law, emphasizing that Kenya’s justice system must not ignore such grave allegations.
The preacher made the confession during a Friday night service on October 3, where he recounted his past life before “getting saved.” His comments have since gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls for his arrest.
The DCI and other relevant authorities have yet to issue an official statement on whether an investigation has been launched.
