Nairobi, Kenya — October 9, 2025.A 19-year-old man who was found inside the Parliament buildings on the night of August 7, 2025, has shocked many after claiming to be President William Ruto’s son.
According to court documents, Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, also known as Nelson Murithi, was discovered in the parking area of Bunge Towers without lawful authority.
Kidero was arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Mark Ekhubi on Thursday and charged with unlawful entry into the parliamentary precincts, contrary to Section 31(1)(a) as read with Section 31(2) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act, 2017.
Court Releases Teen Under Uncle’s Care
The court released Kidero on condition that he does not repeat the offence within one year.
He was also placed under the care of his uncle, who was instructed to ensure the young man receives medical attention and proper guidance.
During the hearing, Magistrate Ekhubi encouraged the teen to consider a career in law, advising him to become a magistrate in the future.
However, Kidero politely declined the suggestion, telling the court that his dream was to become a barista.
“I just want to make coffee and live a simple life,” Kidero reportedly told the court.
His uncle assured the court that he would take full responsibility for his nephew’s welfare and ensure that he remains under supervision.
Legal Framework and Public Reaction
Unlawful entry into the parliamentary precincts is a serious offence under the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act, which restricts unauthorized persons from accessing Parliament for security reasons.
The unusual case has drawn widespread public attention, with social media users expressing mixed reactions to Kidero’s claims and his future aspirations.
