Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has revealed the highest amount ever raised through his popular Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative — an impressive KSh15.7 million collected in just one and a half days.
Speaking during an interview on Chris The Bass podcast, the outspoken activist said the record-breaking contribution was raised to help a woman from Githurai, whose life has since been transformed.
“It is the one from the other day. Ksh15.7 million in one and a half days,” Eric said.
According to Omondi, the funds were used to build apartments for the woman, marking one of the most impactful moments since the initiative began.
Millions Raised Mid-Flight
Eric disclosed that the donations poured in at an astonishing speed. He had posted the Sisi Kwa Sisi paybill number while boarding a flight to Kisumu for an event.
By the time he landed — after a short 26-minute flight — the mobile wallet already reflected massive support.
“By the time I landed, we had already received Ksh7.2 million,” he revealed.
Small Contributions, Big Impact
Omondi emphasized that the power of the initiative lies in ordinary Kenyans giving what they can.
He noted that most donations are heartfelt amounts such as KSh5, KSh10, KSh20, or KSh50, proving that collective effort can change lives.
New Direction for Sisi Kwa Sisi
The comedian also revealed that the initiative has since refined its focus. Based on public feedback, Sisi Kwa Sisi now supports only urgent cases involving individuals who genuinely cannot help themselves.
This shift, he said, ensures transparency and directs assistance to those most in need.
