Media personality Kamene Goro has finally addressed one of the most controversial and long-running claims associated with her name, clarifying that the widely discussed “27 men” body count story was never true.
Speaking candidly during a local podcast on Saturday, January 3, 2025, Kamene revealed that the figure was scripted as part of a sexual health awareness campaign and did not reflect her personal life.
“Even hiyo story ya body count, which was not true, guys,” Kamene said.
“Can we just get that clear? What happened was that it was bait for a campaign of sexual health. So that is the number I was given.”
Truth Behind the Viral 2019 Interview
The revelation comes years after a 2019 interview in which the statement first surfaced, triggering widespread public debate and shaping perceptions of the outspoken radio host.
Kamene explained that the campaign strategy worked as intended but also followed her for years, becoming one of the most persistent narratives linked to her public image.
Despite the controversy, she said she harbours no regrets, noting that her past experiences played a significant role in shaping her growth and maturity.
“If I had not messed up as I had in the past, I would not be the person that I am right now,” she reflected.
Kamene Dodges ‘Real Number’ Question
During the podcast, co-host Alex Mwakideu jokingly pushed her to reveal what her actual number might be. Kamene, however, quickly shut down the curiosity with humour.
“Wewe unadhani ningekua na bwana sai ingekua hivyo? Halafu mtu wa Mombasa?” she quipped, drawing laughter in the studio.
Setting the Record Straight
Kamene’s candid admission marks the first time she has publicly and clearly debunked the long-standing claim, bringing closure to a topic that has followed her career for over five years.
Her remarks have since sparked renewed discussion online, with many applauding her honesty and others reflecting on how viral moments can shape — and sometimes distort — public narratives around media personalities.
