Lydia Wanjiru has ruled out online dating, saying she prefers to keep her romantic life completely private and separate from her social media presence.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Wanjiru stated that she has no intention of engaging in relationships that play out online, stressing that any future relationship will remain offline and out of the public eye.
“I will never do online dating,” she said, adding that she does not believe in sharing intimate aspects of her personal life on digital platforms.
She also dismissed the trend where public figures subtly hint at relationships by posting partial images of their partners. “I will not post pictures of someone’s hand or the back of their head,” she remarked.
Wanjiru explained that her decision is rooted in a desire to maintain her individual identity, independent of romantic associations. She said she wants to be recognised for her own words, actions, and personal achievements rather than who she is dating.
“I want people to know me for the things I have said, the things I have done myself as Lydia,” she said.
Her remarks reflect a broader commitment to personal accountability and building a public image based on her character rather than her relationships.
