The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has unveiled a VVIP Lounge dedicated to civil marriages, just days ahead of Valentine’s Day, and successfully hosted its first wedding ceremony at the new facility.
In a statement issued on Friday, the OAG said the lounge was established in anticipation of the Valentine’s season to offer couples a dignified, serene and welcoming environment for the solemnisation of civil unions.
“The facility, set up ahead of the Valentine’s season, is designed to provide a dignified, serene and welcoming environment for the solemnisation of civil unions,” the office said.
According to the Attorney General’s office, hosting the inaugural ceremony at the VVIP Lounge marks a significant milestone in improving service delivery and enhancing the overall experience for couples opting for civil marriages.
The OAG noted that the new facility is part of its broader commitment to citizen-centred services, continuous improvement, and the creation of spaces that uphold the dignity and importance of major life milestones.
“As Valentine’s Day approaches, the establishment of the VVIP Lounge adds a meaningful touch to celebrations of love, commitment and partnership,” the statement added.
The initiative comes amid increased demand for civil marriage services during the Valentine’s period, with the office seeking to provide a more personalised and respectful setting for couples formalising their unions.
