Kithure Kindiki has affirmed that he is fully focused on executing his constitutional mandate while supporting William Ruto in securing a second term in the upcoming General Election.
Speaking on Sunday in Kariene, the Deputy President dismissed speculation surrounding his political future, reiterating his commitment to delivering on the government’s development agenda.
“This Seat Is Going Nowhere”
Kindiki stated that his immediate priority is to serve Kenyans effectively and ensure the success of the current administration.
“I am the Deputy President. This seat is going nowhere, and when we are done with the second term, we will progress ahead in search of the higher office,” he said.
His remarks signal strong backing for President Ruto’s re-election bid while subtly hinting at future political ambitions.
Remarks at Methodist Church Ceremony in Meru
The Deputy President spoke after attending the Induction and Installation Service of Bishop Doreen Mwathe as Bishop of Abothuguchi Synod of the Methodist Church of Kenya in Kirigara, Central Imenti Constituency, Meru County.
Describing himself as a seasoned politician, Kindiki emphasized the importance of balancing politics with service delivery.
“As a veteran politician, we know when to talk, when to do politics and when to work for the people. We will not engage in idle talk every day because we have a lot to do for the people,” he noted.
Focus on Development and Service Delivery
Kindiki underscored that his main focus is accelerating development projects and ensuring the completion of ongoing government initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of wananchi.
“It is about what you have done for the people because, in the end, it will be what you delivered to them,” he added.
His statement comes amid ongoing political conversations about succession politics and preparations for the next General Election, positioning him as both loyal deputy and future contender.
