A Form Three student has been arrested after allegedly killing a Grade Nine pupil during a fight in Embobut, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The incident occurred on March 2 in Kaptul village, where the two students reportedly engaged in a confrontation that turned violent.
Form Three Student Arrested Over Fatal Fight in Embobut
According to police, the Form Three student picked up a piece of wood and struck the Grade Nine pupil on the head during the altercation.
The deceased was a learner at Chawis Junior Secondary School.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to severe head injuries.
Police confirmed that the suspect surrendered at Embobut Police Station shortly after the incident. He is currently in custody pending interrogation and possible arraignment on murder charges.
Authorities have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal fight.
