Kenyan businessman and car dealer Khalif Kairo has officially declined an unsolicited online fundraising initiative organised by his supporters on TikTok.
The drive was launched on Monday, March 2, 2026, following the recent burial of Kairo’s mother in February. Supporters had reportedly set up the fundraiser to offer him financial support during his period of mourning.
Kairo Says He Did Not Authorise Appeal
However, Kairo swiftly moved to stop the collection, issuing a formal statement to clarify his position.
He stated that he is financially stable and did not request or authorise any public appeals for money on his behalf.
The businessman emphasised his strong preference for financial independence, noting that unsolicited public donations can sometimes come with a loss of autonomy and unnecessary obligations.
“I’m Perfectly Fine”
Kairo reassured the public that he is “perfectly fine,” effectively bringing the TikTok campaign to an end.
His response has sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his stance on independence while others argue that the gesture from fans was simply an act of goodwill.
