Kenyan comedian Mannerson Ochieng, popularly known as Akuku Danger, has confirmed that he underwent a vasectomy.
Speaking during an interview on the Tubonge Podcast with host Chris The Bass, the comedian opened up about his ongoing battle with Sickle Cell Anemia and his personal decision regarding fatherhood.
Referring to an earlier interview in which he had spoken about not wanting children, Akuku revealed that he later took permanent action.
“The thing I haven’t told you is that since you saw that interview until today, I actually went and did a vasectomy,” he said.
The comedian explained that his decision was influenced by the pain and trauma he has experienced living with sickle cell anemia since childhood.
According to Akuku, he does not wish to bring a child into the world who could potentially endure the same health struggles he has faced throughout his life.
He further disclosed that the decision was made together with his partner, who fully supported the move.
Akuku said he views the decision as a responsible step aimed at ensuring the genetic condition does not continue into another generation.
The comedian has previously been open about his health challenges and has often used his platform to create awareness about sickle cell disease and the realities faced by those living with the condition.
