Residents of Riamaciri Village in Embu County witnessed dramatic scenes after a local preacher’s prophecy warning of a fatal road accident triggered panic, heated debate and a brief confrontation.

The incident began when Apostle John Robert of Power of God Church Prophetic Ministry publicly claimed that a road accident along the Riamaciri route would claim the lives of three people.

The prophecy angered a section of boda boda riders, who accused the preacher of spreading fear and causing unnecessary alarm through unverified predictions.

The riders confronted the preacher, with some attempting to chase him away, arguing that such statements could create panic among motorists, passengers and local residents.

However, another group of villagers intervened and shielded the preacher from the agitated riders.

They maintained that he should be allowed to finish delivering his message before people rushed to condemn or dismiss it.

The confrontation briefly disrupted normal activities in the village as curious residents gathered to witness the unfolding events.

Local elders and community leaders later intervened, calming the situation and preventing the disagreement from escalating further.

The incident has reignited debate among residents over the role of prophecy, faith and superstition, with differing opinions emerging on whether such public predictions serve as spiritual warnings or unnecessarily spread fear within communities.
