President William Ruto has made new appointments to boards of various state corporations, as he kicked out more appointees of his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta while rewarding his allies who lost in the August 2022 election.

Former governors Cleophas Lagat and Jack Ranguma, and former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi are some of the notable names in the list.

Lagat and Ranguma were pioneer governors of Nandi and Kisumu counties respectively, and they failed to recapture the seats they lost in 2017. Havi on his part failed to unseat Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi last year.

Lagat is now the chairperson of the board of Rivatex East Africa Limited; Ranguma has been appointed as the chairperson and board member of Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (Sasra), while Havi is the new chairperson of the board of Retirement Benefits Authority.

Former MPs Sakwa Bunyasi (Nambale) and Yusuf Chanzu (Vihiga) have also being appointed as chairpersons of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board and National Housing Corporation Board respectively.
